Greece

Ancient Greece, which is considered to be the basis of French civilisation, has always fascinated people and has significantly influenced Western culture.
Rediscovered during the Renaissance period, it has been the constant subject of research.

Greek ceramics were utilitarian in function, meaning that each vase had a specific shape according to its intended purpose (funeral vases, banquet vases: for drinking, storing or blending wine).
These vases were decorated with paintings, giving them an undeniable artistic quality. However, above all they tell us about the daily life, rites and mythology of the Ancient Greeks.

Taking an interest in Greek vases also means studying the evolution of decorative techniques (geometric, Corinthian, black and red figures).
